The University of Nebraska
excels i n air-conditioned
study and classroom space.
The dormitories, moreover,
are air-conditioned and
equipped to offer excellent
food service.
The University prides itself
In having available lor stu
dent enjoyment the Sheldon
Art Gallery, Uie Morrill Hall
Museum, the State Historical
Society Center, the Howell
Memorial Theatre and the
world renowned Nebraska
CapitoL Prominent people
from all parts of the world
come to Nebraska to visit one
or more of these beautiful
centers of information.
While the Nebraska Union:
is still in the stage of ex
pansion and renovation the
union staff invites students to
" mak use of its completed
facilities and especially its
food service areas.
Never in the history of the
University have so many
tinder graduates and graduate ;
students enrolled tor summer
courses. If the enrollment
trend upward continues with
each new summer period it
win soon be difficult to
distinguish between fall or
spring semester activities and
those of the Summer Sessions.
The University Summer
Schedule of Classes identifies
rather completely the courses
offered for credit during each
of the 5ViHweek sessions and
during each of the 3-week inter-sessions.
The Summer
Sessions 1968 Calendar tof
events lists most of the in
formal educational programs
offered by the University in
the summer, A copy of this
calendar is a feature of this!
issue of the Summer
Nebraskan. .
New this summer is the
Performing Artist Series. The
host for these programs is the
Nebraska Union. All summer
. students and their friends are
invited to enjoy the presenta
tions of this nationally known
artist group.
The three Summer In
stitutes are likewise open to
ill University summer
students. We believe that the
topics under consideration in
the Institutes are of national
significance.
The Summer Nebraskan
wiU be your principal source
of information regarding
Summer Sessions activities.
Each and every issue will be
your guide to a pleasant
summei of study and recrea
tion. 1

With the inauguration of the
two S'i-week summer terms,
the University of Nebraska
has moved to a more nearly
complete, year-round pro
gram. It is our hope that the new
calendar will accomodate
more students, and that tbe
modified instructional plan
will offer greater learning op
portunities. We encourage all students
on campus this summer to
participate in the Summer In
stitutes, the Performing Arts
Series, the Summer Cinema
Series, and the opera sched
uled for the second session.
These eucational programs
were planned very carefully,
and they are included in the
1968 Summer Sessions Calen
dar.
It is a pleasure to welcome
yon to the University of Ne
braska, and we nope that your
summer with as will be a re
warding experience.
