Cowboys For First The crowning of the Uni versity of Nebraska's 1967 Homecoming Queen. Gail Skinner, highlighted the Homecoming dance Friday evening at the Coliseum . Dss Skinner represented Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Her activities include East Campus Student Union trea surer, chairman of Builders Student Foundation Com mittee and Phi Upsilon Omicron home economics bonorary She is also sec ond vice president of her sorority. Barb Boczar, who repre sented Pound Hall was named first attendant A voting tie resulted in two second attendants. Mag gie Evenson represented Al pha Omicron P. and Joleen Phillips represented San doz Hall. Tommy James and the Shondells saw close to 5800 people pack the coliseum in sardine-like fashion for the Homecoming dance. Also announced at the dance were the winners of the Homecoming displays. Delta Upsilon and Gamma Phi Beta teamed up for their winning display, "Cow boys, Breakfast of Champions." Second place was award ed to Chi Phi and Alpha Xi Delta for their display, "Railroad the Cowboys." Five displays received honorable mention. They were, Phi Kappa Psi and Alpha Phi, ' Can Can the Cowboys"; Alpha Gamma Rho and Alpha Chi Omega, 'Hottest Brand Going"; Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Alpha Omicron Pi, "Ne braska Beat Cowboys"; Phi Gamma Delta and Kappa Alpha Theta, "They'll be Surrey they came to XU" and Kappa Sigma and Kap pa Kappa Gamma, "How Ya Hangin, Cowboy?" The Huskers heeded in structions to devour, rail road, and can can the Cow boys in Saturday's 9-0 foot ball victory. It w as the third straight shutout performed by the Huskers this fall. In addition to the regu larly returning alums, sun ny skies were partially re sponsible for the 65.461 Homecoming game atten dance. The Cornhusker march ing band paid tribute to the armed services in a Vet eran's Day half-time observance.
