Joining the Cipriano staff this year is assistant Coach Bill Harrell, from Kentucky, one of the top high school coaches in the nation. Tom Baack and Stuart Lantz, top scorers from last year's squad, return after leading the Cornhuskers to a second place finish in the Big Eight Conference with a 104 record. Graduation has taken former standouts Nate Branch and Willie Camp bell. "They were good on the press, and were the back bone of our rebounding, Coach Cipriano said of Branch and Campbell. Senior guard Fred Hare, who was withheld from last year's season due to a knee injury, is back on t h e squad. Cipriano said Hare has not been bothered by t h e knee this year. As a sophomore the 6'2" Hare was thr leading scor er on the Cornhusker bas ketball team. The sophomores are play ing an important role in Coach Cipnano's plans this year. ""Two or three have a chance to be in the top six," the Nebraska mentor said. On Nebraska's month long Mexican tour this summer, Cipriano was Im pressed by sophomores Ken Cauble, Bob Gratopp, Sam Martin, and Tom Scantle bury.
