Fighting has broken out in Laos, according to Laotian
Prince Souvanna Phouma. He feels that the great powers
of the world are disregarding this war, because of the
tremendous Vietnamese concentration.
The Prince said the United States alone can't help
Laos. It must be a job for the Geneva Conference.
North Vietnam sent 40,000 troops into the country and
are aiding 20,000 rebels.

Yom Kippur, the Sabbath
of Sabbaths, the Day of
Atonement, or simply The
Day, the most important
single day in the J e w i s h
Calendar begins Friday
night.
The most important re
ligious holiday in Judaism,
Yom Kippur is a day of
fasting and personal con
fession with God. Rabbi
Sanford Ragins of the South
Street Temple explained.
The Day of Atonement is
the culmination of the Jew
ish High Holiday Season or
the Ten Days of Repen
tance which begin on Oct. 4
with Rosh Hashana. the
Jewish New Year.
Yom Kippur "deals di
rectly with the individual
and God." Rabbi Raeins
said. The observer of Yom
Kippur fasts for 25 hours
and confesses his sins to
God, the Rabbi explained.
The observance is the
only generally practiced
fast day in Judaism, he
continued.
"Bv fasting we assert
our elf-control over our
appetites and desires in the
hone that ;n the year zhead
we will be able to control
the impulse to do evil."
Rabbi Ragins pointed out.
Tom Kippur is the most
serious Jewish holidy. he
added. "If the Jewish peo
ple don't come to the syna-
gogue any oiner lime, mis
is the time they come."
Very little is done in the
home; it is entirely a syna
gogue observance, he said.

Rabbi Ragin noted.
The main emphasis, he,
said, is on the departed
relatives of the Yom Kip

tion has been part of the
holiday for a long time,
although "originally, back
in biblical times it wasn't."
Many Jewish students
are going home for the
weekend, according to a
coed in Sigma Delta T a u
sorority. "Nothing will be
done in the house, since
Yom Kippur is strictly a
synagogue holiday," she
said.
There are usually no spe
cial activities in the home,
either, she explained, al
though "there is usually a
tremendous meal almost a
feast at the end of the fast
Saturday night."

Officials Say
"In revolution, one wins

Guevara, once proclaimed
Cuban revolutionary and
Bolivian guerrilla leader.
Sunday, October 8, Gue

On a battlefield near the
remote town of Valegrande,
Bolivia, Che Guevara was
shot and killed by U.S.

for Guevara the revolution
had ended and possibly for
Bolivia.
In March, 1967, Bolivian

Since the first encounter

Before you decide on the job that's to start you on your professional
career, it's good to ask a few point blank questions . . . like:
Will this job let me rub shoulders with
engineers doing things that haven't been
done before, in all phases of engineering?
Will I be working for an engineering
oriented management whose only standard
is excellence?
Will I have access to experts in fields
t other than my own to help me solve problem!
and stimulate professional growth?
Will I be working with the widest range of
professional competence and technological
facilities in .the U. S.?
Are engineering careers with this company
stable ... or do they depend upon proposals
and market fluctuations?
Why not ask these questions about Benlx Kansas City when Mr. R. ,
