Interests

Among the Masters who
will be visiting the Unlver
sity this year are Dr. Jo
seph McVlcker Hunt, Pro
fessor of Psychology at the
University of Illinois; and
Henry Vance Greenslit, pre
sident of Greyhound Bui
lines.
Hunt, who was born in
Scottsbluff in 1906, attended
the University where he
was a member of Phi Kap
pa Psi fraternity and an Inter-Collegiate
Representa
tive of the University
Y.M.C.A.
He earned his B. A. De
gree in 1929 and his Mas
ters Degree in 1930 at Ne
braska. In 1933 he received
bis Ph.D. at Cornell.
Illinois Professor
Hunt was a professor ta
Brown, Columbia, and Pem
broke Universities before
taking a position at the Uni
versity of Illinois where he
has been Professor and Co
ordinator of Training in Cli
nical and Counseling Psy
chology since 1951.
Shattuck Named
'Career Woman'
Cathie Shattuck, a senior
in political science from
Hastings, was named "Ne
braska's Young Career
Woman" by the state's Busi
ness and Professional Wom
en's Federation, at the state
convention in Omaha last
week.
Miss Shattuck, who will 1
attend NU's law school next
fall, was nominated by the
Hastings chapter of the Fed- "
eration.
Recommendations
The award is based on
recommendations and past
activities in the state.
"Ill be attending a na
tional convention in New
York for a week in July,"

Joseph Hunt
He was president of the
American Psychological As
sociation from 1951 to 1952.
In 1944, he received the
"Favorite Professor"
award at Pembroke. He re
ceived the Five Year Re
search Career Award from
the National Institute of
Mental Health in 1962, and
he has received awards of
excellence in research from
the American Personnel and
Guidance Association.
Unrealized Potential
He was the author of "In
telligence and Experience"
Miss Shattuck explained.
"I've also been asked to
make a speech at one of the
banquets during the week."

Next year, Miss Shattuck
will make speeches through
out the state concerning
women in business and pro
fessional life, she explained.
According to Miss Shat
tuck, ft local Federation
chapters do not usually
nominate a student for the
award.
"This is usually someone
who has been in business or
bad a career for a while.
It's not only very thrilling,
but also a great opportuni

potential for intellectual de
velopment in young chil
dren. He was editor of the
Journal of Abnormal and
Social Psychology from
1949 to 1955.
Greenslit was a member
of Alpha Tau Omega fra
ternity while attending the
University. He was the di
rector of the orchestra for
Kosmet Klub and had a
lead in The Dream Pirate,
Kosmet Klub's Spring Show
in 1927. He obtained his Law
Degree at Nebraska in 1928.

He was Claims attorney
for the Yellow Way Bus
System and for the Coloni
al Stage System. In 1932
he joined a subsidiary of
Greyhound Lines as a gen
eral attorney.
He was named President
of Greyhound's Southern Di
vision in 1954 and later be
came President of the
merged Southeastern and
Atlantic Lines.
He was elected President
of Greyhound Lines and a
member of the Board of Di
rectors. He presently re
sides with his wife in Chi

Olson To Address
Meeting Of IDA

ation (IDA) at their Wednes
day, 8:30 p.m.. meeting at
Abel Hall on the committee
proposed to coordinate IDA,
IFC and Panhellenlc.
The motion, presented by
Abel-Sandoz IDA member
Dave Shonka, calls for a
coordinating committee, re
maining subordinate to IDA
IFC and Panhellenic, to
provide "a network of com
munication between the two
major campus political
groups functioning in areas
of mutual concern."
Last week the IDA voted
to table the motion until
Wednesday's meeting, and
further action "hopefully
will be taken at the meet
ing," IDA president John
Fryar said Tuesday.
