When Dr. Kenneth Pruess of the Entymology Depart ment was approached for and explanation of the pres ence of the autumn pests, he laughed heartily. "As far as I know, It's a normal situation," Pruess said. He scoffed at the sug gestion that there were any more insects around now than ever. Pruess told the Nebraskan reporter that he didn't see anything humorous in the current fly population, but to go ahead and write the story and he would "sit and read it and laugh." "Insects are around all the time," Pruess said, avoiding technicalities. "They are always present in one form or another." Pruess said that they would be evident in this con spicuous form "until we get a good hard freeze." He also pointed out that "flies congregate on cool days." Students may sleep easy tonight knowing that the insect problem is "normal." The success or failure of the proposed student FM ra dio station will depend on the enthusiasm and interest shown by the students and the University, according to Bob' Wilson, chairman of the Incorporators. Promoters of the "Univer sity of Nebraska Student Broadcasting Corpor ation" met Thursday to dis cus what organizational steps are needed in order to establish an FM station. Articles of Incorporation have been written and the promoters will meet with the Regents Oct. 15 to seek ap proval for using the Univer sity s name and to incorpor ate. Monday the promoters will meet with the Alumni Associ ation to present their plans and try to gain support of the organization. "Through a massive letter writing campaign we hope to contact the Nebraska Broad casters Association, student organizations, living units and other campus radio sta tions" to inform them of the group's ideas, Wilson said. Nebraska is the onlv 'ma jor college that does not have a radio station, he aaaea. The promoters will try to find a location for the anten na which will enable service to both campuses and the ma jority of the off-campus itu dents. The promoters hope the station's operation will be similar to that of the Daily Nebraskan. Larry G. Keat ing, resident agent of the new corporation, said the station will be a service to students and "at the same time be de- Nebraska Hall Receive ID Cards AtAdministration Students who have not yet received their Identification cards may obtain them at the information window in the Ad ministration Building. Wilson said that the corpor ation's Board of Trustees, consisting of three faculty members and two stuaenn elected at large from the stu dent body, would serve in a capacity similar to that of the Publications Board. He requested interested students to write to the pro moters in care of the Nebras ka Union or phone him.
