The So. Dak. SAE"s fash
ioned a 56-54 last second win
over host team Nebraska Fri
day and won the champion
ship Saturday with a 61-58
squeaker over Iowa State.
Nebraska placed third in
the four team tourney with
a 63-46 victory over the hap
less Drake quintet who drop
ped their first game in a 54
46 decision to Iowa State.
The Championship game
between South Dakota and
Iowa State was hard fought
with the score knotted 30-30
at the half.
Iowa State's Tim Lowe un
loaded a barrage of shots to
take game and tournament
single game scoring honors
with a 29 point total to have
his effort fall short in face of
the balanced So. Dak. attack.
The attack featured scoring
by all eight team members
who were led by Dave Le
master with 16, Roger Dam
mier and Denny Asper with
15 and 13 respectively.
Asper and Dammier paced
their team with a 16 and 14
point total respectively in their
Friday night victory over Ne
braska. Lowe's single game 29 point
output was followed by a 23
point total registered by Ne
braska's Denny Stewe who
garnered his points in the 63
46 route over Drake Saturday,
The Drake team was never
able to close the 25-17 half-
time deficit with only Randy
Sparks finishing in double fig
nres with a 10 point total.
The Nebraska squad was
led by Stewe's 23 point totals

The annual SAE Midland
Basketball Tournament was
initiated by the N e b r a s k a
Lambda Pi chapter two years
ago and features a three-foot
traveling trophy that goes to
the tourney's victor.

American League Executives
To Sell Their CBS Stock
Baseball owners agreed on
Monday to allow Baltimore
board chairman Joseph Igle

The agreement states that
the Oriole chairman must put
the shares into an irrevokable
nonvoting trust in compliance
with an old baseball statute
involving conflicting interests.

selected to share the spotlight
in the first nationallv-televised
Big 8 Conference football
game.

the past by such traditional
meetings as Texas-Texas
A&M and Auburn-Alabama.
Several schedule switchej
had to be made in order for
the Big 8 to meet the Turkey
Day request. The Oklahoma
Oklahoma State game, slated
for Nov. 27, will be set back
until Dec. 4.
With the Husker-Sooner
clash now moving from Nov.
20 to Nov. 25, the two clubs
will have 11 days to prepare
for the TV spectacular. Ne
braska plays Oklahoma State
on Nov. 13, the same day
Oklahoma meets Missouri.
