This game was played after the regular sea Son was over at the popular demand of the Cornhusker fans. In case you hadn't guessed, a fellow by the name of Jim Thorpe was playing with the Carlisle Indians at that time. The game was played on De cember 2, and it was bitterly cold. Two thousand five hun dred fans witnessed that game. After the first three minutes the startled fans looked at the scoreboard to find the score Nebraska 6, Carlisle Indians 0. Then the fabled Thrope got the ball. He promptly sprinted forty-five yards forthetieing mark. He never stopped run ning all afternoon. The final score: Carlisle Indians 27, Ne braska 6. Streak Broken The Pitt '.urgh Pirates de feated the Cincinnati Reds, 2-0, last night in the Red's final home stand. The loss .'jpped a nine game winning streak for the Reds. The win for Pittsburgh was credited to the pitching of Bob Triend and a key ninth inning single by Bill Mazer-oski. Want Ads Black billfold. LOSTi Reward. Call 4354860.
