Garzio of Manhattan, Kan. opens tomorrow in the Shel don Memorial Art Gallery. Garzio, a native of Italy, is associate professor of art at Kansas State University. His work is included in the F.M. German Club Activities Include Parties, Films University students in Ger man have an opportunity to participate in Der Deutsche Verein, a social club which seeks to promote the study of the German language, litera ture and civilization. The club meets once a month and special activities include films and a Christmas party given by the members. Students are also eligible for membership in Delta Phi Alpha a national German honoary, if they have com pleted 12 semester hours in German with a minimum 7.000 average in the preceding six semester hours and have maintained a minimum grade of 6.000 in other courser 3:30 p.m. SHELDON MEMORIAL STEPS Broadcasters Aid High School Grads Six freshman broadcast scholarships, with a total val ue of more than $1500, will be available at the University's School of Journalism for qua! ified 1965 Nebraska high school graduates. The new broadcast scholar ship program was announced jointly in June by A. James Ebel, Lincoln, president of the Nebraska Broadcasters Asso ciation, and Dr. William Hall, director of the School of Journalism. More than $1,000 already has been subscribed toward that goal by 15 member sta tions of the Nebraska Broad casters Association. The scholarships will be adminis tered by Robert Spearman of the Journalism School's radio-television faculty through the University of Nebraska Foundation. "Our goal in broadcasting, as with our advertising and news-editorial programs, will be to offer a program of in struction that will compare favorably with any in the nation," Hall said. "This scholraship aid from Nebras ka's broadcasters will help us to attract the caliber of student required to develop such a program." Responsibility for building the University's program in broadcast education was transferred to the School of Journalism in the fall of 1963.
