Computing Center in Nebraska

two computers in the Center are
their use in research and educa
tion. Don J. Nelson, director of the
Center, said that the main com.
puter an IBM 1410, which rents for
about $80,000 a year, can produce
600 typed lines a minute. This
computer is used for the research
while the smaller IBM 1620, which
rents for about $10,000 a year, is
used as a teaching aid. It can pro
duce 15 characters a second.
Soon the Law College may be
using the computers in reference
work. (See story Page 1)
