The basketball team meets Missouri there February 1, Kansas State here February 3, and Oklahoma here Febru ary 8, but the swimming team will be even busier with five meets. Nebraska tangles with high ly-regarded Southern Illinois here at 3 p.m. tomorrow af ternoon. Southern Illinois has consistently finished high in national collegiate competi tion, and coach Ralph Casey has turned out several All American swimmers. Casey was chosen to coach an Amer ican AAU swimming team which went to Japan last sum mer and defeated Japan. An example of Southern Il linois prowess is the fact that they have defeated perennial swimming champion Okla homa, which beat Nebraska for last year's conference championship, the last two years. Dick Klaas says he antici pates several new pool re cords as Southern Illinois has posted several times this sea son that better Coliseum pool records. The University of Colorado Journeys to Lincoln for a swimming meet a week from today at 3 p.m. Last year Colorado had only a 5 and 10 record but broke all but two school records with only three seniors on the squad. Men to watch are co-captains Dave Bailey (freestyle sprints) and Keith Shaw (breast stroke), plus Chuck Bush, a sprinter and diver, Jim Thompson, a sprinter, Barry Carlson, who swims backstroke, and Jim Waggon er, who swims the butterfly and individual medley. Carlson set the Colorado 100-yard and 200-yard back stroke records last season, and Shaw set the record in the 200-yard breast stroke. Waggoner holds the records in the 200-yard butterfly and in the 200-yard individual med ley. Macalester College of St. Paul swims Nebraska here on February 6, for the first of three Husker meets in three days. The meet begins at 1:30 p.m. Coach Klaas calls Macales ter "very strong for a small school" and comparable to Washington University of St. Louis, which lost to Nebraska 52 to 43. (Undefeated Nebras ka's other victories are over the University of Iowa and the Nebraska freshman team.) Wyoming, which edged Ne braska in a very close meet at Laramie last year, does battle with the Husker swim mers at 4 p.m. on February 7, Friday. Wyoming also beat Nebraska two years ago, and Coach Klaas said: "We will not lack for competition in that particular meet." Nebraska goes to Ames on Saturday," February 8, for a triangular with Iowa State and the Air Force Academy. Coach Klaas calls Air Force weaker than when they beat us two years ago. They beat Colorado by 30 points this year but lost to Kansas. The Nebraska gymnastics team, which lost its first meet last Saturday to Denver Uni versity 63 to 49, faces Iowa State here tomorrow at 2 p.m. Iowa State is now in its third year of gymnastics, and coach Ed Gagnier has some seniors for the first time. The Cyclones fell to Nebraska 80'2 to 31 last season but still finished third in the confer ence. The Husker gymnasts will grapple with Mankato State (Minnesota) two weeks from today at Mankato. Tomorrow's wrestling meet with Kansas has been can celled due to conflicts with the KU finals schedule, which leaves the wrestlers free un til second semester. On one, as an Accountant in Comptroller's Operations, he revised the Revenue Accounting Department Instruction for billing directory advertising a major contribution. Seeing what he could do, Michigan Bell next put Don in eharge of the 71 Data Processing people who, among other duties, issue the company's entire monthly payroll! Again Don proved himself, and again his reward was a promotion this time a full-level jump to Staff Supervisor. Don Liebers, like many young men, is impatient to mako things happen for his company and himself. There are few places where such restlessness is more welcomed or rewarded than in the fast-growing telephone business.
