Stays Unbeaten
The keen competition in Fraternity league C-16 con
tinued in Monday's intramural basketball play, as Phi
Delta Theta beat Beta Theta Pi 47 to 35, and Sigma Chi
defeated Phi Kappa Psi 43 to 35.
Phi Kappa Psi, in absorbing its first loss in five
games, drops into a first place tie with the victorious Phi
Delts. Sigma Chi is now 4 and 2 and Beta Theta Pi 3 and 2.
John Hinrkks hit six field goals in the first period
to give the Betas a 17 to 12 first period lead, but Phi
Delta Theta's balanced attack, paced by Pat Fitzpatrick's
14 points, Dick Newton's 12 and Chuck Salem's 10, pro
vided a one-pont lead by halftime and a 33 to 30 bulge
after three periods.
Ron Harris was the leading scorer for Sigma Chi with
15. Dave Theirsen scored 17 of Phi Kappa Psi's 35 points.
Sigma Phi Epsilon kept its grip on first place in
league C-17 with a 68 to 23 victory over FarmHouse.
The Sig Eps are now a perfect 6 and 0, while FarmHouse
is now 3 and 2.
