Clark, Beatty Place in Contest Cloyd Clark, a senior ma joring in journalism, won a $750 fellowship as a first place award in the William Randolph Hearst sports writ inging contest in November. His story, which appeared in the Daily Nebraskan, con cerned Red Grange and his flunking of freshman rhetoric at the University of Illinois. Second Floor Plus: Added Savings with New Designs To Be Shown The designs for the recon struction and redevelopment of the Beatrice State Home, as conceived in the minds of University architectural stud ents, will be presented public ly this week. Twenty-seven senior design students will appear before public juries and show their yearly project tomorrow and Friday and the following Mon day through Wednesday at the Nebraska State Educa tion Association building in Lincoln. Each year the seniors, un der the direction of their pro fessor, Patrick Horsprugh, are given the task of plan ning, in depth, the construc tion or renewal of major public facilities as if they were hired to do the J o b. Projects of the past have in cluded new concepts and fa cilities for recreation, tour ism and rehabilitation. More than 400 invitations have been sent to educators, state senators, health and civil authorities and archi tects. The general public is also invited. Each student, in turn, will present his ideas and plans for the redevelopment of the Beatrice State Home based on several months of work and research. The first judging will begin at 1 p.m. Wednes day.
