Alumnus Editor
Tells Innovations
For Fall Editions
A new column on faculty
members is one of the fall in
novations for the Nebraska
Alumnus, said Mrs. Dwain
Coble, editor.
Every other month, the
magazine will report on what
faculty members are doing.
On the alternating months,
honors received by faculty
members will be published as
will conventions, conferences
and meetings they have been
selected to attend.
Mrs. Coble also explained
that the Alumni Newsmaker
column will be presented in a
different format. In addition,
she stressed that the maga
zine wants to receive opinions
from the readers, not Just
news about them.
She also said that Joel
Lundak will begin writing in
the October issue as the stu
dent column writer.

Addresses
200 Girls
Dr. E. F. Frolik, dean of
the College of Agriculture ad
dressed some 200 women of
the Nebraska Couiril of Home
Extension Clubs Monday in
Grand Island.
Homemakers and heme ec
onomics researchers who
study human relations at the
family level, he declared, may
show the world how to live
in peace.
"You ladies share equally
with the men the responsibil
ity for solving national and
world problems. In the past
100 years you have gained
freedom, equality, knowledge,
and prestige," Dean Frolik
said.
"We have confidence in the
American people and our sys
tem, but we cannot rest on
our laurels. We as a nation
cannot expect to be success
ful in world-wide competition
and still maintain the trend
toward shorter work weeks
and greater leisure unless w
use our leisure time con
structively to help solve such
problems as juvenile delin
quency, mental neaitn ana
physical health.
"Although we have plenty
of food, studies show that
many Americans still do not
have an adequate diet," Dean
Frolik pointed out. Some
cannot afford to buy the food
they need, but most of them
have enough money.
