Bert Advances Amendment
To alleviate a constitutional
amendment and revision sit
uation "which isn't very real
istic," Student Council mem
ber Don Burt proposed an
amendment which will be
voted on in the spring gen
eral election Monday.
"It was felt that the amend
ment procedure was too dif

time," Burt explained.
Under the present system,
an amendment must be sub
mitted during the first semes
ter to be placed on the ballot
in the spring general election.
In the proposed amendment,
continued Burt, the constitu
tion may be changed during
the first semester by a spe
cial student vote, and amend
ments may be proposed dur
ing the second semester until
28 days before the spring gen
eral election.
Illustrlating the "difficul
ties" with the present amend
ment procedure, Burt noted
