Husker Ray Knaub, spring champ in the Kansas and Texas Relays, will be out to earn a victory in the 100 and 220-yard dashes. He. will be supported by teammates Steve Pfister and Don Deg tan in an effort to nose out Colorado's Olympian Teddy Woods. Baseballers Meet Pokes By RICK AKIN Sports Staff Writer Nebraska's baseball team lsft yesterday for a crucial three-game series with Okla homa State in Stillwater. A doubleheader is slated for today with a nine-inning single game on tap for to morrow. This series is crucial to Nebraska if it wants to climb to the first division. The Hus kers are now in sixth place, one-half game behind fifth place Colorado and 1 games behind fourth place Oklahoma. Oklahoma State must also come through in this series if it is to maintain its bid for the title. The defending champion Cowboys are now in third place, trailing Kan sas and Missouri by Vk games. Huskers Ron Havekost and Ernie Bonistall will tsfce the mound in today's doublehead er. Lefty Havekost has been used more than any Husker moundsman, appearing in 36 1-3 innings in compiling a 2-3 record and 2.79 ERA. Bonistall is the winningest Husker with a 3-2 record. Bonistall, used mostly in re lief, has a 2.84 ERA. Sophomore George Land gren will start the Saturday 8 i n g 1 e game. Landgren pitched well against Concor dia of Minnesota and Missou ri to earn a starting berth. Throw in some stout, tough male bronc bus ters and pert, determined ro deo misses and you're set for an action-packed afternoon of rodeo entertainment. This is the goal of the Ne braska Rodeo Association as it prepares for their fourth annual Intercollegiate Cham pionship Rodeo to be held at the State Fairgrounds Colise um in Lincoln, May 11-12. Jim Schooler, head of the hard working corp of student rodeo enthusiasts, has ex tended an invitation to 20 Ne braska universities and col leges to participate. In addition to the regular events the rodeo club is sponsoring the selection of an all-around cowboy and all around cowgirl at the final performance on Saturday eve ning.
