NU Greek Week
Is IFC Topic
Greek Week took up the
majority of the IFC meeting
Wednesday night, as plans
were laid, suggestions made
and cooperation was asked
for.
Roger Anderson announced
the schedule and the details
that go with Greek Week and
mentioned that every Greek's
cooperation was needed to
make it a success.
Vicky Cullen. of the Pan-
hellenic Greek Week commit
tee, said that all of the girls
were enthusiastic and work
ing hard.
Harold Goff, chairman of
the Lincoln chapted of the Mul
tiple heterosis Society spoke
to the meeting and explained
the organization of the drive
which all of the Greeks will
take part in during Greek
Week. '
There was also debate over
the dress of the people taking
part in the drive. A motion
recommending the r various
fraternity sweatshirts was
soundly defeated, as well as
one stipulating the dress as
coat and tie. The question is
still undecided.
A motion was passed which
cleared up an inconsistency
in the constitution and bylaws.

I See It

a college degree. They
are, I think, looking in
greater numbers for some
thing personal and mean
ingful. In order to hold interest
for incoming students of a
higher caliber, fraternities
must continue to re-evaluate
themselves, to make
greater efforts to live up
to their ideals. We must
distinguish between as
pects of fraternal life we
have held i the past which
possessed no genuine val
ue, and those which do.
We must not hesitate to
discard childsplay.
On the other hand, we
will not find ourselves in
the defensive position we
now occupy if we will ac- -cept
the responsibilities
which accompany our
position of privilege. We
must serve ourselves, our
families, our University,
and our community by
making a sincere effort to
develop our talents and
unselfishly a i d causes
greater than our own.
I submit that the unity
we pride ourselves in as
Greeks will be richer
when we try harder to
base it on mutual respect
for diversified talents. I
submit, too, that if we ap
ply the idealism of our
pledge manuals and ritu
als, we will indeed be the
bastions of Democracy
and the servants of our
society as leaders of so
ciety1, which it is our goal
to be. Let's have a good
Greek Week.

Baby chicks can't talk we know that. But we
wonder what this little chick would think
if chicks could think?
Probably he's bewildered ... a great big
world . . . great big problems . . .
an orphan already . . . and hungry !
Yet, there's deep meditation
here. Man is often like that
little baby chick; bewildered,
i confused, wondering . . . especially those
on the threshold of a new life or venture.
We don't know all the answers, of course,
but we do know some! We do know hoyr
- to reach our Creator (PRAYER),
. ! how He reaches us (BY HIS GRACE).
We also know that the most
serene place for such communion with
the Creator is in church. Here
you'll find many answers to many problems.
It's worth a try, isn't it?
