Friday, March 16,-1962 The Daily Nebraskan Page 3 Independents Sponsor Annual Sprng Dance The independent organza tions on campus, IWA, RAM, and Delta Sigma Pi are spon soring the first annual Spring Ball dance. In past years the dance was held in the fall and called the "Hello Dance." The "Hel lo Dance" was sponsored by IWA and RAM last year. Be cause there were many social events in the fall, the dance was changed to a spring date. Last year a Hello Girl and Hello Girl Escort were select ed. This year an- outstanding Independent woman and an outstanding independent man will be crowed "Independent Spring Queen" and "Inde pendent Spring King" during intermission. Five women and five men will be selected finalists by an interviewing board con sisting of representatives from IWA, RAM, Mor tar Board, Innocents, Daily Nebraskan staff and Delta Sigma Pi. The finalists will be judged on the basis of scholarship, activities, service to the University, personality, appearance and poise. Voting for the queen and king will take place at the dance. Any University student attending the dance may vote for royalty (ID's will be re quested). The voting will end shortly after 9:30 p.m. and royalty will be announced during intermission. The "In dependent Spring Queen' will be presented with a crown, a bouquet of roses and a traveling cup. She will be crowned by last year's Hello Girl, Gladys Rolfsmeyer. The "Independent Spring King" will be presented a crown and traveling cup. He will be crowned by last year's Hello Girl Escort, Maurice Wiese. This is an all-campus affair and all University students are invited to attend. ; The dance will be held March 23, from 8:30 to 12 p.m. It will be held at East Hills Ballroom with the Mark IV combo to provide music for dancing. Admission is $1.00 per person. Dress is semi-formal and this year's theme is "Spring Fever." Tickets will be on sale in the Student Union March 16 21 from 11 to 1 p.m. They can also be purchased from social chairmen of the independent houses or at the door. Miss E-Week Interviews Scheduled For Sunday Preliminary interviews tor Miss E-Week will be held this Sunday in Room 332, Stu dent Union. Times for the interviews are: 2:20 Kay Pierce, Inde pendent 2:30 Shirley Nunns, Del ta Delta Delta 2:40 Anne Savage, Delta Gamma Ag Talent Show Depicts History Spectators will get a glimpse of life in the past, tiie present and the future at the annual Ag talent show at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Ag Activities Building. Admission is 35 cents. There will be ten student acts, a faculty quartet, and four acts from Hastings Col lege. Carrying the show from the days of the pilgrims through the 19th and 20th centuries, the twenties and the depres sion into the present and the future will be Susie Hyland and Dave Zimmer, mistress and master of ceremonies. Two trophies will be awarded. Phi Psis Choose Top Cheerleader Pam Jones, of Hastings was selected as the head cheerleader of the 1962 Phi Kappa Psi All Tournament Cheerleading Squad. The Squad is selected an nually from the cheerleaders from the various towns that compete in the state basket ball tournament. Miss Jones, a member of the honor squad last year, succeeds Sandra Mcistrell of Fremont in the top position.
