Three sophomores will be in the starting lineup when
Nebraska takes the floor against Kansas in a Big Eight
basketball encounter at 8:05 p.m. tonight in the NU Coliseum.
Husker Coach Jerry Bush indicated he would start sophs
Bill Vincent, Denny Puelz and Charley Jones against the
Jayhawks tonight. All three turned in good performances as
the Scarlet downed Missouri. 65-63, in their last outing.

The Huskers are currently
in fourth place in the Big
Eight standings with a 4-5

Kansas guards Nolen Elli
son and Jerry Gardner have
been billed as the best in the
conference and they have
carried the scoring load for
K.U mis year. '
The Kansans are a little
shorter than usual with their
tallest starter, center Lee
Flachsbarth measuring 6-5.
Other openers for the Jay-
hawks will be forwards Jim
Dumas (6-1) and Harry Gib
son (6-3), along with Ellison
. (6-1) and Gardner (5-11)
Bush had special praise for
Vincent, 6-8 soph pivot who
scored 11 points and hauled in
eight rebounds against the Ti
gers. 1
- "Vincent came of age
against Missouri," he said.
"Not only was he scoring bet
ter, but be was going into the
defensive backboards with
authority."
Jones, who led the NU
scoring against Missouri with
17 " points, and Puelz also
drew laurels from their men
tor. ""Both will see plenty of
action against Kansas to
night," Bush said.
Russell continues to lead
the Husker scoring, chart with
a 15.8 .average on 316 points
in 20 games.
