NU Runners Face Buffs
Nebraska's cross country
team will face one of their
toughest opponents Saturday
when they take on Colorado
at 11 a.m. at Pioneers Part
The Huskers met Colorado
earlier this year in the sea
son opener against Colorado
and Kansas State at Man
hattan. The Buff squad, con
sisting entirely of sopho
mores, pulled an upset over
the favored veteran Kansas
State team.
. Ray Steveis, undefeated this
eason in two outings, will be
striving for Ms third victory.
Last week in leading NU to
victory over Drake and Iowa
State, Stevens ran the three
mile hill-and-dale course in
15:07, slightly over the course
mark of 14:59 set by Bob Han
neken of Missouri last year.
Along with Stevens, Coach
Frank Sevigne will also run
Clarence Scott,. Jim Lewis,
Stuart Tucker, John Portee
and Paul Nielsen. Bill Kenny,
who has an injured Achilles
tendon, is still on the doubtful
list for Saturday, Sevigne
said.

victorious last night when they
entered their first round of
the intramural football plav

slipped by Gus I 7-6. Alpha
Tan Omega, with a strong de
fense, held Sigma Alpha Mil
to only one score in their 26-6
win. Canfield, showing a
strong offense and defense,
marched by Selleck 27-0.
The Dells bombed Alpha

The Huskers will go into the Oklahoma State game
minus some key linemen but the XU offense has looked
strong enough the last few weeks to throttle Oklahoma
State.
The Cowboys have lost some tough ones this fall and
will be trying to repeat last year's upset win over Ne
braska. Always strong defensively, the Gowpokes have
mustered up a good offense this fall with Jim Dilliard do
ing most of the running.
Let's tab the Huskers as two-touchdown favorites and
call it NEBRASKA 14 OKLAHOMA STATE .
