when they tangle at 2 p.m. at
Memorial Stadium.

and 201 to 189 on the second
team.
NU's first line outweighs
the Wildcat line 214 to 199, 15
pounds per man. ". The NU
second line weighs 211 per
man, compared to Arizona's
194 per man.

This weekend is the first big weekend for collegiate
football. All Big Ten and East teams play Saturday. There
are some key intersectional games as well as some early
season conference games, all of which should add up to
an interesting weekend of football.
In the Big Eight, Colorado and Okla
homa swing into action with the Sooners
facing Notre Dame and Colorado meeting
conference rival Oklahoma State.
. Colorado's sports publicity director,
Fred Casotti (a poor man's Walt Whit
man), scribbled this message on a recent
release:
"I tip my hat to Kansas Slate
The way they broke from starting gate
.. Just hope my Buffaloes don't take gas
And fall like Kansas on their mass . . .
of clippings."
After watching the North Dakota films, Coach Bill Jen
nings and staff graded the Huskers' performances, based
on the University grade scale.
The number one line (Reds) earned a 4.3 offensively
and defensively while the alternate unit, the Blues received
a 3.9.
Predictions
So far so good. Bullet's weekly predictions have netted a
.795 percentage, hitting on 31 out of 39 picks. Last week's
record was 20 out of 26 and one tie. The misses were on
the Kansas-TCU, Kansas State-Indiana, Cincinnati-Boston
College, Arkansas-Mississippi, LSU-Rice, and North Caro
lina State-Wyoming games.
This week the games get tougher and there are some
real toosups. Here's the way this corner sees them.
The Huskers should be able to combat the high-flying
Arizonans with some razzle-dazzle offense themselves. The
game should be a wide-open battle with the emphasis on
offense r.ather than defense.
Nebraska will be at top strength and have a weight
advantage over the Wildcats. Let's call it Nebraska 21,
ARIZONA 13.
Big Eight Games
AIR FORCE 20, KANSAS STATE 12-Falcons should
be able to down the Wildcats, who last week surprised
everyone by upsetting Indiana.
COLORADO 19, OKLAHOMA STATE 7-Colorado will
combine always tough throwing arm of Gale Weidner with
something new this year a more dangerous ground attack.
Buffalos should be able to beat the Cowboys at Boulder.-
KANSAS 20, WYOMING 10 Pity anybody that plays
KU after last week, but Wyoming has a good ball club
which could give the Jayhawks a scrap.
MISSOURI 24, MINNESOTA 21 Minnesota may not be
as weak this year as some people think with most of their
Rose Bowl backfield including Sandy Stephens returning.
This game could go either way and Minnesota may have
a home field edge but I'll stick with Mizzou.
NOTRE DAME 20, OKLAHOMA 14-We'll pick Notre
Dame strictly on a home field basis because this inter
sectional battle rates as a tossup. Oklahoma, however, has
lost 12 backs due to injuries in practice, including four of
the top eight and the ace defensive specialist.
