Kowalke, who is averaging 11.9 points per game saw lim ited action against Oklahoma State on the recent road trip, but the ankle injury kept him on the sidelines against Oklahoma. . .The Huskers will be trying to break a four-game losing string and pull their record above the .500 mark. Nebras ka is 8-8 on tire season and 2-4 in conference action. Three Huskers, in addition to Kowalke, have scoring av erages in double figures. Tom Russell is averaging 11.7 points per game while Rex Swett has a 10.9 mark and Jan Wall is 10.1. Freshman coach Tony Sharpe indicated he would probably start Dayrl Petsch and Keith Sieck at forwards with Bill Vincent at center, and Charlie Jones and Roger Denesia at the guard posts. With the loss of Joe Scott because of scholastic difficulty, the middle distance events will be more vulnerable. Coach Frank Sevigne said co-captains Bob Knaub and Jim Kraft will not be able to work to capacity because of knee injuries. "Things are looking pretty black in this office," Sevigne said- The hurdles will be the Huskers' strong events in this meet. Nebraska swept. both hurdle events against Okla homa State last week. Hopes for a first in the shot put are dim as Dick Pilgrim of Iowa State set a mark of 54-11 in the Michi gan State relays. Al Well man's best mark was set last week at 52-5. 'Competition will be stiff for the Huskers in the high jump and the 60-yard dash. In the high jump Cy-lone Larry Eilert has a 6-3 effort. Ne braska's Fred Wilke cleared a height of 6-3 in Intramural competition, but cleared only last week. Seven Schools Will Participate In Sports Day Seven schools will partici pate in the WAA Sports Day to be held Saturday in Grant Memorial Gym, according to Judy Knapp, WAA publicity director. Nebraska, Doane, Wayne, Hastings, Midland, Omaha, and Peru will vie for top hon ors in badminton, table tennis, bowling and Nebraska ball.
