Swett (t-1) By Hal Brown Nebraska will start a re vamped lineup when the Huskers go after their second cage win of the season to night against invading Utah State. Game time is set for 8:05. - Coach Jerry Bush has moved Jim Kowalke to guard and will give Al Buuck, 6-9 junior, his first starting assignment of the campaign. Buuck will start at one of the forward slots with Jan Wall at the other forward. Tom Russell will be at cen ter with Jim Kowalke and Rex Swett or Al Roots in the backcourt. Bush indicated that the Kowalke switch was made to give some relief to Swett and Roots, who have played nearly every minute of the first two contests, v Kowalke leads the Husker scoring in the first two games with 34 points. He is followed by Wall with 28. Russell, Roots, and Swett are next with 19 each. Nebraska has had a differ ent scoring leader in each of the first two games. Kowal Ice's 22 led the 78-68 win over Iowa State Teachers in the season opener. Wall pumped in 21 to lead the scor ing in a losing effort againsH Wichita, 65-63, Saturday.- Bush's cagers have been a first-half team so far. Utah State has three start ers returning from last year's team that compiled a 24-5 record. The Aggies fin ished second in the Skyline Conference and third in the National Invitational Tourna ment. Returning starters are for wards Cornell Green and Ty ler Wilbon and guard MaxJ Perry. Perry ond Green formed a potent one-two punch last season with Green averaging 21.2 points per game and Perry chipping in 16.1 points. Wilbon added 11.4 points per contest. Expected to start with the above three are Charlie Walk er at the pivot -and Don Hol man at the other guard spot, Walker, a 6-5 sophomore, av eraged 21.1 points per game at Sacramento, Calif., Junior College last season.' Holman averaged 15 points per game in 12 freshman con tests last year, the highest average by an A g g i e fresh man in 10 years. A jump shot by Holman in six seconds gave Utah State a 67-65 vic tory over New York Univer sity in the Aggie opener Saturday- Another j u n o r college transfer. Darnel Haney, is expected to see considerable action. The 6-8 center from Phoenix, Ariz., Junior Col lege averaged 21.7 points per game in junior college com petition last year. In League 2 Farm House (3-0) defeated Theta Xi to move into the lead over Cornhusker (3-1). Manatt A (3-0), previously tied with Gus I for the League 4 title, moved in front by virtue of a 49-33 romp over MacLean A. The Manatt B squad (3-0) downed previous ly undefeated Benton B to take over the . 1 e a d in the League 12 race. Sigma Chi A (4-0) retained its lead in League 1, Alpha Gamma Sigma (4-0) contin ued on top in League 3 and Canfield (2-0) remained on top of League 5. Nissen, who is from Man kato, la., returned to his homeland to pin two of his fellow Iowans and decision two others for the 123-pound division championship. The wins were each rated as upsets because the little Husker was behind his op ponent at one time in each match. This occurred in all four bouts, but it was most evi dent in the match against Dave Frame of Mankato. Early in this match Frame was leading Nissen 3-0, but Nissen came back to win the match by a pin in 4:47. Nissen proved himself Big Eight champion material when he pinned Don Webster of Ames, la., in 2:56 of the final round of the tournament Webster, runnerup in the Big Eight last year, is actu ally the co-holder of the title belt. In winning the semi-final bout Nissen reaped vengance of a three year rivalry be tween he and Bill McNiel of: Cedar Falls. , j McNiel had beaten Nissen! three times in three previous I meetings between the two, j but Nissen overcame tradi-j tion and won 5-3 in the semi- j final bout. In high school Mike was' runner-up in the state high school wrestling tournament his senior year. It was after this performance that Coach Bill Smith convinced him to ; come to Nebraska and wrestle on the big red Husker mats. Nissen laid out of school last year, but during his freshman year he won six bouts and lost two and was picked as NU's most valu able freshman athlete. Coach Mickey Sparano de scribes the little Iowan as a "terror on the mat witha lot of drive and determination that keeps him moving." Teammate Harold Thomp son described Nissen by, "He's a pinner." Thompson. Nissen and Jim ftaschke will be the Husker wrestling tri-captains this year. Nissen describes wrestling as "a lot of fun" and plans to coach wTestling after he graduates from Nebraska.
