The drive is being held in co-operation with the Lancaster Countv Fi nance Committee. $36,000 of a $50,000 goal have already been donated. This is a record for Lancaster County. Tentatively scheduled as one class a week for the next six weeks, the course is in tended for beginning students of engineering and the natural sciences. It is designed to give fundamental skill in the use of the slide rule as an aid "to problem solution. Undergraduate members of Sigma Tau are providing the instruction for the free non credit course. All classes will be held in room 111, Ferguson Hall with five sections scheduled: Monday 5 to 5:45 p.m. Tuesday 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday 3 to 3:50 p.m. The program has been pre sented by Sigma Tau since the University discontinued inclusion of slide rule instruc tion in its regular freshman curriculum! but this year a special effort is being made to register interested students outside the college of engin eering and architecture. A series of dance techniques, problems and exercises and creative work in dance will be required at the tryouts. Members are also required to keep at least a 5.0 over-all average at the University.
