Pride of the law school,

So he always wears Jcckey

tugnt standings when they
host Kansas today and to

series of the season.
The two teams will play a
doubleheader at 1:30 today
and a single game at the
same time Saturday.
Fifth Place?
The Huskers with a 3-8
conference mark could move
into fifth place with a sweep
of the three-game series plus
three victories by Oklahoma
State over Colorado. The
Buffs are currently in fifth
place with a 6-6 record and
Kansas is sixth with a 4-8
mark.
Sophomore righthander Don
Pucell has been given the
mound nod by coach Tony
Sharpe for today's opening
game with Harry Tolly slated
to start in the nightcap. Par
cell has a 1-0 record with a
4.24 earned run average, best
of the Husker hurlers.
Tolly owns a 2-3 record
with a 5.14 era. The Nebraska
mound corps has been weak
ened with the possible loss of
Jan Wall and Dave Webster
for the Kansas series. Both
are suffering from back in
juries. To add to the Husker
woes, first baseman Ken Rui
singer is hobbled by a sore
knee.
The probable starting line
up for Nebraska will be:
Bob Semin. cf (.083): Doug
Sieler. 2b (.224): Ken Rui-i
singer, lb (.333); Ely Church
ich, c (.351); LeRoy Zentic,
If (.302); Dick Becher, rf

SCHOOLMASTERS HUDDLE
With 64 from which to choose, Chancellor Clif
ford Hardin scores high on the listings for pleasant
est looking university president There he was,
caught in a shot of state
college heads, in the May
16 issue of LIFE.
Other distinguishing
features of Nebraska's
chancellor: his hair was
more intact than that of
his colleagues.
PRINCESS MARRIES
And of course when
an English princess mar
ries, the world and LIFE
looks on. The cover
photo this week is a
color shot of Margaret
and Armstrong - Jones
leaving: Westminster. If
it hadn't been seen on
television, it would look like a faked shot from 18th
Century pomp.
The whole show is dutifully recorded for the
American public in 10 pages of wedding coverage
ranging from Winston Churchill to the charwoman
who received an invitation. And so like in the fairy
tales of old, the beautiful princess sailed off into the
sunset.
MEANWHILE AT THE RANCH
The title tells the. tale as LIFE turns from the
high-speed race being carried on by active candidates
to the other part of the show in Texas. There, look
ing for all the world like a couldn't-care-less-about-politics,
Lyndon Johnson appraises his herd.
Instead of Meanwhile At the Ranch, the title
might also have been,
"I'd like to say a tew
words about Texas." The
pictures of the LBJ
Ranch do.
For those who stiT.
see Texas as one vast
desert, please note the
abundance of water
even enough for the
Johnsons to drive
through a minor water
fall on their way out to
the highway.
GERMANY'S
SOLDIERS
The recovery which
amazed, then began to
worry the world is looked at from another angle ia
LIFE this week. This is the re-birth of the German
fighting force. The new military force, under the
leadership of defense minister Franz Josef Strauss
now numbers 256,000 men all of whom look as
though the German "nation can still produce top-notch
fighting men this time on our side.
