opportunity to participate in
the A Student Union tour to
the State Penitentary lues
day evening.
The annual event includes
a complete tour of the insti
tution, dinner, and entertain
ment presented by the in
mates. Buses will leave from the
Ag student union at 5:30. Only
the first 50 to make reserva
tions at the Ag Activities of
fice before that time may at
tend. This is the largest group
the institution will accomo
date for this type of tour.
The cost will be $1 which
includes the evening meal.

Council Hears Faculty Ideas
For Open House Program
Two tickets to ;"Ben Hur"
and dining for two at Ross
Steak House in Omaha are
up for grabs as the prize for
the winner of the Spring Day
Bicycle Kace.
Archie Clegg, chairman of
Spring Day, told the Student
Council at its meeting
Wednesday that the 10-mile
trial would be the big event
of the Spring Day activities.
Clegg also told the Council
that preparations for the ac
tivities of Spring Day were
made and he urged Council
members to encourage stu
dents in their respective liv
ing units to participate in and
attend Spring Day.
In other reports heard by
the Council, Fred Flickers,
chairman of the all-University
open house committee,
told the council of the recent
meeting his committee had
with the deans of the colleges
and the advisers of the pres
ent open house programs.

events.
Rickers told the Council
that Dean Breckenridge and
Mr. ' Pittenger recommended
that the committee limit the
all-University open house pro
gram next year by coordin
ating the present main events,
inviting other colleges to have
programs on the same days
if they desired and by con
ducting tours.
John Hoerner moved to ac
cept the committee report
with the recommendations.
