Ivy Sing Selections Named Women's Houses The Board of Regents ap proved a $552,784 increase over the 1359-60 budget for the University at their meet ing . in Omaha last Wednes day. The new budget is for one year effective July 1, the sec ond year of the current bien nium, and totals $16,693,071. Most of the increase ($500. 000) k from the University's share of the current biennial state general fund appropri ation and is ia keeping with the fiscal plans approved by the 1959 legislature. . Academic salaries ($400, 908) represent the bulk of the increase with $78,877. for clas sified salaries, graduate as sistants and hourly wages, and $72,299. for operating ex penses and equipment, ac cording to University Comp troller Joseph Soshnik. More than $30,000 of the oper ating expenses and equipment fund will go for increased University contributions to Social Security and another $30,000 will go for the in creased costs of power plant and purchased utilities. Chancellor Clifford M. Har din told the Board that , all of the increased salaries are an a merit basis and not "across the board." Fiscal year income begin ning July 1 is estimated as follows: State tax appropri ation including the veterin ary medicine fund, $12,798, 000; income from students, $1,999,750; federal funds, $1, 456,157; endowment income, $45,000; county levies for pa tient care at University Hos nitaL $156,000: other income including cost reimburse-! ments and cost oi allowances j in fellowship, training, ana research grants, $238, 163. Obviously, such flavor cannot come from the filter. Therefore, it's what's up front that counts: Winston's Filter-Blend. The tobaccos are selected for favor and mildness, then specially processed for filer smoking. This extra step is the real difference between Winston and all other filter cigarettes.
