Kansas State 69 and two-thirds to 52 and one third. Nebraska racked up vic tory number three for the season. Three meet records were set and one meet record was tied. Bob Cross, speedy Nebras ka sprinter, was sidelined for the evening with a damaged hamstring muscle, after win ning the 60 yard dash. Coach Frank Sevigne said the ex tent of injury will not be de termined until later today. Joe Am e r 1 c a n Horse stretched the Huskers lead when -he won -the -record-breaking two mile run. American Horse ran the event in 9:32.2, shattering the meet record, set by Charles Mitchell of Kansas State in 1938, by :15.2. Paul Nielson placed third in the two mile to add another point to the Husker's score. Nebraska cracked the meet wide open when Dick Kier, Jerry Marples and Bill Melo dy swept the 1000 yard run. Kier's time of 2:22.0 estab lished a new meet record for the event. The Huskers continued to dominate the middle dis tances as Joe Mullins and Ken Ash olace first and sec- end, respectively, in the 880. For the third time in as many meets Husker Coach Sevigne scratched Nebras ka's mile relay team. The Wildcats ran the e vent against the clock to pick up the five points. Highlight of the field events was in the pole vault. Ne braska's Jim Craft soared over 13-6 to take first place honors. This has been Craft's best showing this season. Last year the junior vaulter cleared 13-8. Nebraska's team captain Joe Mullins continued to cut his time in the 600 yard run. In Tuesday night's contest Mullins, current hold of the Big 8 conference record, made the tour in 1:12.3, three tenths of a second under his Conference record. ON THE TRACK Mile ran 1. Holmstrom, sophomore from Independence, Missouri, is currently bowling at a 195 average, and is the league's leading bowler. He also has the league's high game of 256 and his 632 series ranks 3rd.
