Wood- of Okla homa City, the main figure in the probation ruling against Oklahoma, has blamed Ne braska football coach Bill Jennings for the NCAA ac tion. "I would say this whole thing probably has been brought on by Jennings dis closing information to the NCAA," said Woods. The Sooners were slapped with an indefinite probation and banned from post season bowl games and television appearances for failure to dis close details of a fund for re cruiting athletes. The fund was administered by Wood and was found to have provided improper fi nancial aid to a student ath lete. Wood refused to open his records to the NCAA claim ing that by so doing he would be subject to a $10,000 fine because he is a certified pub lic accountant. Wood claimed the money involved was money which he gave to Jennings personnally to defray travel expenses for prospective athletes during a period from 1952 to 1954. According to Woods, the contributions which he made was a violation of the Big Eight rules but not of the NCAA rules.
