in the 100-yard backstroke
and James Wilbur, Don Ben
son, James Pickett and Fer
rell teamed up to win the
200-yard medley relay for
the only first place finishes
by Town Quartet.
Two records were borken
and two more established.
New records were established
in, the 200-yard free style by
Jay Groth of Beta Theta Pi
at 2:21.5 and in the 200-yard
medley relay by the Town
Quartet team at 2:09.1. Both
were new events this year.
Phil Swain of Beta Theta
Pi shattered the old record
in the 100-yard individual
medley with a time of 1:05.0.
The old record was set by
Jerry Keown at l:08.8in 1957.
The Phi Delta TheU 200
yard free style relay team
composed of Robin Snider,
Stan Wilson, Charles ' Wilson
and Jim Frank set a new
record in that event with a
1:50.5 clocking. The old rec
ord was set by Beta Theta
Pi at 1:51.1 in 1957.

and Jim Anderson, an 147
pounder. Rethmeier is the
only upperclassman on the
squad.
Gregg Doubtful
Oklahoma, a third place
finisher in last year's NCAA
meet, will probably be with
out the services of their top
147-po under, Jay Gregg.
Gregg defeated Ken Hecht of
Colorado Mines 10-4 in his
opening match Dec. 4.
The Sooners defeated Colo
rado Mines 29-3. Their prob
able wrestlers against the
Huskerg are Gerald Whitfield,
123-lbs.; Duwayne Miller, 130
lbs.; Stanley Abel, 137-lbs.;
Lawrence Gregory, 147-lbs.;
Ray Johnson, 157-lbs.; Sid
Terry, 167-lbs.; David Camp
bell, 177-lbs.; and Dale Lewis,
heavyweight.
Abel was last year's NCAA
champion at 130 pounds and
Terry was a NCAA runner-up
at 157 pounds. Lewis was a
Pan-American heavyweight
champion in Olympic style
wrestling.
Oklahoma State. Saturday
night's opponent, is the de
fending NCAA champion.
