Saturday's game against
Colorado will be the final
home game for 11 seniors on
the Husker football team and
a win would assure Nebraska
of its best record since 1956.
The 11 seniors are Quarter
backs Harry Tolly and Tom
Kramer; halfback Carroll
"Pappy" Zaruba; fullback
Bill Bohanan; ends Max
Martz, Roger Brede and Guy
Sann: suards Dale Siemer
and LeRoy Zentic; tackle
Duane Mongerson ana center
Jim Moore.
Kramer has been sidelined
with an injury and Sapp has
yet to' see action.

Nebraska went through a
SOPHOMORE QUARTERBACK Gale Weldner, a 19-year-old
sophomore quarterback, has led Colorado to up
set wins over Missouri and Kansas the past two Satur
days. Weidner will give the Huskers' pass defense a stern
test when the two teams meet in a Parents Day game in
Memorial Stadium Saturday.

Conference statistics show
Soergel leading with 83 com
pletions on 136 attempts for
997 yards. Weidner has at
tempted 146 passes and com
pleted 75 for 943 yards. Weid
ner has had eleven passes
intercepted while only three of
Soergel's tosses have been pi
rated. Rushing Leader
Tom Watkins of Iowa Slate
continues to lead the rushers
with 707 yards on 127 carries
for an average of 5.6 yards
per carry. Teammate Dwight
Nichols is second with 605
yards in 172 carries.
Nebraska's Pat Fischer
leads the punt returners with
a 17.9 yard average per re
turn. Fischer has returned
seven punts for 125 yards.
Bobby Boyd of Oklahoma is
second in punt returns with
seven returns for 116 yards.
John Hadl of Kansas leads
the punters by a wide mar
gin. He has a 45.9 yard aver
age as compared to Kansas
State's John Solmos with a
second place average of 38.5
yards. Harry Tolly of Ne
braska is the fifth leading
punter with 37.4 yards per
punt. Tolly is the league's
busiest punter with 43 punts.
Tony Banfield of Oklahoma
State is- the leading scorer
with 66 points, all of them
coming via the touchdown
route. Watkins is second with
48 and Hadl has scored 42
points for third place.
Oklahoma State's total of
fense figure of 2,749 yards is
tops in that department. The
Cowboys have gained 1,688
yards rushing and 1,061 yards
passing.
