Basketball Tournament.
The tourney will be held
December 26, 28, 29 and 30
in Kansas City, Missouri.

their winning ways Saturday
when they defeated the South
Dakota Club 4-0' at Vermil
lion, South Dakota.
This was the Huskers sec
ond victory of the season
making them 2-3 thus far.
George Morris played a
sterling game as he led the
team in scoring with 3 timely
goals. Joe Luk added the
other Husker tally and the
Husker team played good de
fense to whitewash the Da
kotans. The team members mak
ing the trip were: Martin
Carrencedo, Loui M o 1 n e r,
Dan Bockelmann, Clark Balt
zell, Harald Dreimanes, Al
Arrigunaga, Mike Gomez,
Joe Luk, George Morris, and
Bill Whitman.
The match scheduled for
Sunday against the Germans
of Omaha was cancelled.

gridders will be trying to

tive undefeated season for
Nebraska - frosh when they
travel to Manhattan for an
encounter with the Kansas
State yearlings. (

The young Huskers won
their only other game of the
season from Iowa State by 'a
33-13 count at Lincoln. Last
year's freshmen defeated the
Cyclones and "Kansas State
for an undefeated season.

Huskers Begin Preparations
For Homecoming Encounter

Nebraska began prepara
tion, Monday, for their up
coming battle with Oklahoma
and after being held to only
seven points by Kansas last
weekend, the Sooners are ex
pected to throw everything
but the kitchen -sink at the
Huskers.
Oklahoma has a nasty
habit of bouncing back from
bad showings to pummel their
next opponent. The Sooners
trounced Colorado 42-12 after
losing to Northwestern 45-13
in their season opener.
"Oklahoma has their usual
ball club and we expect them
to roar at us with everything
they've got," said head coach
Bill Jennings.

Clare , Leads
Nebraska trails their oppo
nents in yards gained with
1060 to 1526. Pat Clare leads
the Huskers in rushing with
a 7.0 yard average but he
has carried the ball only
three times.
Clay White continues to
lead the regulars with a 4.7
yard average on 146 yards
in 31 carries. Harry Tolly is
the leading Nebraska passer
with 12 completions in 28 at
tempts. Tolly also leads the squad
in punting with a 36.7 aver
age. Tolly has punted the
ball 35 times for a 'total of
1286 yards which is an ex
ceptional average considering
the number of snapbacks he
has fielded off the ground.
Several of Tolly's punti
have been gotten off just in
the nick of time before be
ing blocked by opposing line
men. , .
"Tolly is one of the finer
kickers in the country," com
mented Jennings.
