Page 3 Friday, October 2, 1 959 The Daily Nebroskon Sport Signals by hal broicn Beavers Playing Third Road Game Brown After a disastrous first week which saw the Big Eighters losing six of seven games, they won four and lost four last week. Two of the wins came against E:g Ten competition with Nebraska thumping Min nesota, 32-12 and Missouri squeezing by Michigan in the final seconds, 20-15. Other winners were Iowa State over Den ver, 28-12 and Kansas State over South Da kota State, 28-12. Losers were Colorado, Kan sas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Colorado lost to Baylor, 15-7, Oklahoma State dropped a 13-7 decision to Arkansas, Syracuse defeated Kansas, 35-21 and North western overwhelmed Oklahoma, 45-13. My crystal ball forecast seven of the eight winners, with the Northwestern-Oklahoma game being the lone miss, for a percentage of .875. This combined with the five for seven of the first week gives me 12 of 15 or .800 per cent. Now for a look at this week's games: Nebraska 21, Oregon State 19. Nebraska will miss Kramer and Olson but should come through with win number two. Kansas 20, Boston University 12. After two bruising games with Texas Christian and Syracuse, the Jayhawks will be hungry for a win. Missouri 28, Iowa State 14. Missouri has high Orange Bowl hopes and should stop Dwight Nichols and 'company. Oklahoma 42, Colorado 13. Pity any team that has to play the Sooners after they lose and Oklahoma will be real mean after last week's trouncing. Oklahoma State 14, Kansas State 13. The Cowboys are looking for their first win. Indiana 27, Minnesota 13. Minnesota will probably be the doormat of the Big Ten this year. Indiana comes to Lincoln in two weeks. Iowa 28, Northwestern 26. Both teams won by large mar gins last week and this will be one of the top games of the day. Iowa is real tough at home and that should be the difference. Orpwin State will be Dlav- ing their third of four consec utive road games this Satur day when they meet Nebraska. The Beavers lost their first two games to Southern Cal ifornia and Texas Tech. so they will be hungry for a win when they take the field, Sat urday. Head Coach Tommy Prothor has moved his regular tail back, Dainard Paulson, to left end replacing Don Thiel who is injured. This leaves Juniors Grimm Mason and Leon Criner to handle the all-important tail back position in the Beavers single wing attack.
