This was a vast improve ment over a week ago when Iowa State was the only team posting a victory. The scores for the past weekend were Nebraska 32, Minnesota 12; Iowa State 28, Denver 12; Missouri 20, Mich igan 15; Kansas State 28, South Dakota State 12; North western 45, Oklahoma 13; Baylor 15, Colorado 7; Syra cuse 35, Kansas 21; Arkansas 13, Oklahoma State 7. Nichols Dwight Nichols, an all american candidate, ran for two touchdowns and passed for the other two Iowa State touchdowns. It took a Missouri touch down in the last two seconds to give the Tigers a 20-15 win over Michigan. Bob Haas, second-string quarterback, set up the touchdown with a 36-yard pass to Danny La Rose and then dove into the end zone from the two-yard line for the score. Kansas State scored 22 points in the second half while holding South Dakota State scoreless to overcome a 12-6 halftime deficit. Jack Marcoline scored two of the Wildcat TD's, one of them on a 57 yard run. Northwestern handed Okla homa its worst beating since Bud Wilkinson became head coach. Northwestern scored in every quarter in overshelm ing the Sooners, who fumbled II times and lost the ball on five of those occasions. 74-Yard Run Colorado scored first in their encounter with Baylor but the Bears fought back to take a 15-7 win. John Hadl was the Kansas star for the second week in a row bu the Jayhawks also went down to defeat for the second successive week. Hadl returned a kickoff 97 yards for a score and scored again on a 12-yard run but Syracuse was the victor, 35 21. Hadl also boomed quick kicks of 63 and 59 yards. Arkansas scored 13 points in the first half while holding Oklahoma State scoreless, then held on for a 13-7 vic tdry. Oklahoma State contri buted 12 fumbles to the Razor back cause.
