Research Grant Given A grant of $11,730 has been received by two fulltime fac ulty members at the Univer sity of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha. Sponsored by the National Heart Institute of the Nation al Institutes of Health, the funds will aid in the study of cardiac action of rhodochlor jn on warm-blooded animals. The chemical has previous ly been used in experimental research at the c o 1 1 e g e on frog hearts, and it is hoped that this chlorophyll deriva tive will eventually be applic able to the human heart. Patterned after last sum mer's series," the telecourse is i again taught by Mrs. Heien ! Graham of the University Ex tension Division. The review course is de signed to offer opportunities for viewers in the general au dience to perfect their use of the English language and to increase their communication skills. The refresher drill is also of specific value to pros pective University students. Approximately 138 persons registered for last year'i course which gave atten tion to the p r i n c i p 1 e s of spelling as well as- to the fun damentals of grammar and the mechanics of correct punctuation. The review sessions were especially directed to incom ing freshmen whose English placement tests showed them to be below college level in I their spelling, word usage and j writing practices, A syllabus or course outline is available for $1. It may be secured after July 1 by writing to KUON-TV.
