Missouri is currently In second place in the Big Eight standings with a 3-0 record and Nebraska is holding down the third spot with a 2-1 mark. If Ken Rusinger's back has mended he will probably get the starting call for Friday's nine inning game. Rusinger has been bothered by a pinched nerve in his back. He sat out the first game against Iowa State last weekend but got into the doubleheader, Saturday. Gardner, who set records ranging in inclusiveness from the Big Eight conference to the world, has expended his intercollegiate eligibility; he will be running unattached. His event will be the 100-yard dash. The friendly, mustached speedster from Kingston, Ja maica set Big Eight marks in the 120-yard high hurdles and 220-yard dash last season. He won the Henry F. Schulte award for being the outstand ing performer in the Big Eight track meet, and was named Daily Nebraskan "Athlete of the Year." Last summer, Keith toured Europe with the Jamaican track team, which he has cap- tamed since 1955. The team; competed in Sweden, Finland j and England, took part in the j British Empire Games in j Cardiff, Wales, and then visited Ireland and Scotland, concluding the tour with a re turn trip to Sweden. During the two-month tour, Keith ran in 46 races. He won all but six, in which he fin ished second. He set a Euro pean record for the 100-yard dash, with a time of S.4 sec onds. This summer the 28-year old "Jet" will remain in Ne braska to attend summer school. A Physical Education major in Teachers College, he will graduatenext January. Sevigne Names Six NU Tracksters For Relays Track coach Frank Se vigne named Knolly Barnes, Bill Melody, Joe American Horse, Joe Mullins, Ken Ash and Ken Pollard to perform in the Drake Relays at Des Moines today and tomorrow. Barnes, Melody, American Horse and Mullins will run in the four-mile relay Friday. This foursome was second in the Texas Belays with a 17:18 clocking. American Horse set a Nebraska record In the two mile run Tuesday against Houston and Kansas State with a time of 9:27.5. Mullins won the mile Tues day with American Horse in third place. Mullins time was 4:11.4 and American Horse was close behind in 4:12.6. Nebraska will run in the two-mile relay Saturday with the same quartet mentioned above probably teaming up again although Ken Ash may replace one of them. The Huskers were second in this event ct the Kansas Relays finishing on the heels of the winning Jayhawks. Joe Mullins may run in the open mile Saturday.
