No Returning Lettermen in Nebraska Outfield

field candidates on Coach
Tony Sharpe's Husker base
ball team. Dick Nelson, Le
Roy Zentic, Bob Semin, Don
Vogel, Jerry Harris arjd Bill
Fisher are bidding for the
starting positions.
Nelson, Zentic and Semin
have been given the starting
Arkansas and Oklahoma State
Meet Huskers in Triangular
The spotlight win be on the
2-mile run and the pole vault
when Nebraska, Oklahoma
State and Arkansas tangle in
a triangular track meet at
Stillwater, Oklahoma Satur
day, The meet was formerly
scheduled for a dual between
the Okies and Nebraska but
Arkansas was added when a
dual between them and Okla
homa State was postponed.
Joe American Horse and
Bill Melody are expected to
hook up with Miles Eisenman
cf Oklahoma State in what
could be the feature race of
the day. Eisenman bettered
the listed American record for
the 3-mile run in the Texas
relays last week at Austin
when he ran a 13:50.9.
Ken Pollard of Nebraska is
expected to battle it out with
Oklahoma State's Jim
Graham and Aubrey Dooley
for first place in the pole
vault. Graham set a new Tex
as relays record with a vault
of Wi last Saturday.
Pollard was suffering from
an attack of the flu last week
end and the best he could do
at the Texas relays was 13-6.
Pollard set the conference in
door record at 14-634 against
these same Cowpokes in an
indoor meet at Nebraska in
February.

tied for most hits with Lewis
at 30. Lewis hits .319 and did

Intramural volleyball moved
into its final rounds with
seven teams still remaining in
the running for All-University
Championship. In the Frater
nity "A" Division I bracket
Phi Kappa Psi has emerged
the winner. Acacia won the
Fraternity "A" Division II. In
the Fraternity "B", Burr
Hall B", and Selleck "B"
division, there are two teams,
Theta Xi and Beta Theta Pi
are left.
There are also two teams
left in the Selleck "A" divi
sion, Manatt and Gus II.

end baseball series with Col
orado at Boulder has b e e n
canceDed because of snow.
Officials at Colorado report
ed that 13 inches of snow had
fallen and that the storm
wasn't over. They phoned the
University to notify them of
the cancellation.
Coach Tony Sharpe had al
ready., left with. 18 players
early yesterday morning but
they were stopped by the
State Patrol near Arapahoe
and returned to Lincoln.
According to Nebraska of
ficials, the games will not be
rescheduled. The Huskers'
next games are scheduled
against Iowa State at Lincoln,
April 17 and 18.

three times. In his three trips
to the plate, he has two hits
for a .667 average. Fisher
got both his hits against
South Dakota State after re
lieving LeRoy Zentic in left
field. Don Vogel has two hits in
nine trips for a .222 average
and has driven in three runs.
Vogel filled in at shortstop
in two games on the south

McKay and Dave Murakami
