Two Frosh Win 4-H DC Trips Kathryn Sides and John Zauha, freshmen in Agricul ture are among four Nebras kans winning expense-paid trips to the National 4-H Club Conference. They were chosen to attend the annual confer ence June 13-19 in Washing ton, D.C., for their outstand ing achievements, according to W. M. Antes, state leader of 4-H and Young Men and Women at the College of Ag riculture. This is a repeat honor for Miss Sides. She won a trip to the National 4-H Club Con gress in 1957. She has been a 4-H club member since 1949 and was active in 4-H activi ties. Zauha has taken part in 29 livestock judging contests, in cluding the American Royal at Kansas City and the Interna tional Live Stock Show at Chi cago. He has raised both hogs and beef since 1954. Laase to Attend Speech Conference The chairman of the de partment of speech, Dr. Le Roy Laase, will preside at the" section on "Speech Educa tion in the Space Age" at the conference of the Central States Speech Association and the Michigan Speech Associa tion Friday and Saturday in Detroit. Gimmestad Gets Honor Award Wilma Gimmestad, Univer sity physical education instructor, has received the honor award of the American Association for Health, Phys ical Education and Recreation at the group's annual meet ing last week. The award is given in rec ognition of distinguished serv ice to the profession. Mrs. Gimmestad has served as Central District represen tative on the AAHPER Board of Directors since 1956. She is the chairman of the finance committee. The women's physical edu cation instructor is also the recipient of the honor award of the Nebraska Association and the Central District Asso ciation for HeaUh, Physical Education and Recreation. Newman Chapel, Center Move Temporarily; New Edifice To Be Built At Present Site Newmanites attended their last mass Sunday in the yel low wooden building at 1602 Q St. as Newman Club pre pares to become the fourth campus religious group to build a new student center in the last nine years. Razing of the Catholic cha pel and student center begins today. Construction of a new brick building replacing the old structure will be started in about two weeks and is ex pected to be completed by next spring. Activities Continue Until the new building is completed, Newman Club ac tivities will be held at 1112 Q St., approximately five blocks east of the old location. The Na tional Lutheran Student House was built in 1952 and a chapel was added to it last Novem ber. The Missouri Synod Luth eran Student House and Cha pel were completed in 1951, and the Cotner School of Re ligion, headquarters for the Baptist-Christian Fellowship, in 1954.
