That about sums up the Husk er baseballers' southern trip as they won two, lost three and had one game washed out. The Huskers split in games with Texas Lutheran and Houston winning 10-3 and 12 6 and losing 7-0 and 5-2. They dropped a 6-1 decision to Rice and the second game with Rice was canceled because of rain. Sharpe Coach Tony Sharpe stated, "I was well pleased with the pitching. They did a real fine job although we didn't give them too much help In the field. We had a lot of both mental and physical errors." Nebraska was shut out, 7-0 by Texas Lutheran In the opening game of the trip. Bob Gleason and Lefty Hev ner limited the Texans to only five hits but a pair of field ing errors, five walks and four stolen bases gave Texas Lutheran their runs.
