Since the growth rate varied more from experiment to experiment with raw soy bean oil meal, cooked soybean oil meal ration was used as a control. The addition of small amounts of penicillin and stre ptomycin, both antibiotics, resulted in approximately equal gains by rats fed raw and cooked soybean oil meal.
