Big Night Schedule Set

A special orientation pro
gram for parents of high
school students participating
in the University's television
correspondence project will
be presented at 8 p.m. to
night over KUON-TV, channel
12.
The program is entitled
"Report Nebraska Project."
Nine high-school subjects
will be presented this year
over KUON-TV to 31 Nebras
ka high schools. The subjects
include beginning algebra,
physics, general mathema
tics, plane geometry, chem
istry, advanced algebra, art,
American literature and
Spanish.
Participating schools are:
Adams, Barneston, Beatrice,
Beaver Crossing, Bellwood,
Bennet, Ceresco, Clatonia,
Crete, Daykin, DeWitt. Doug
las, Eagle, Friend, Gretna,
Holmesville, Lincoln High,
Palmyra, Prague, Raymond,
Sprague-Martell, Springfield ,
Thayer, Union College, Lu
ther Academy, Walton, Wav
erly, Weeping Water, West
ern, Wilber and York St.

techniques, Mathematics 120,
is designed especially for
high school mathematics
teachers in order to update
them on modern teaching,
Mrs. Stepanek said.
Combination Course
A combination television-
classroom course will be Mar
riage and Home Relations
Home Economics 191. For the
first 30 minutes Dr. J. Joel
Moss, associate professor of
home economics, will teach
the television class from
KUON-TV studios, and then
return to complete his eve
ning class.
Other new offerings for
1958-59 include statistics, psy
chology in business and indus
try, and political parties.
A class in beginning Rus
sian, where enrollment
jumped to 22 students last
year, wi!l be held again this
year, Mrs. Stepanek said.

Horning Joins
Voc Ed Staff
The homemaking division
of the Vocational Education
Dept. at the University has
added a new member.
She is Leorna Horning of
Battle Creek, Mich. Among
other honors, she earned the
distinction of being Battle
Creek's "Business Woman of
the Year."
Before coming to the Uni
versity, Miss Horning was
Lakeview Consolidated
Schools in Battle Creek and
has served as a supervising
teacher for Michigan State
University.

of Colorado.

Registration
Registration for classes will
continue through Sept. 27 in
the Extension Division office,
Architecture Hall, from 8 a.m.
to 5 p.m. on weekdays and
from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
Staff Parking
Staff members must secure
their campus parking tickets
prior to Saturday.
Application should be made
at Room 4 in the Geography
Building cr at room 202 at
Agricultural Hall.
In addition, students may
register in the afternoons of
Saturday, Sept. 13 and Sept.
20, and continuolsly on Sept.
10 and 11 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Fellowships Open

Fulbright Fellowships will
be available for foreign study
in any one of approximately
25 countries during the aca
demic year 1959-60, according
Harold Wise, Fulbright pro
gram adviser.
An applicant must have a
working knowledge of the lan
guage of the host country and
must be a citizen of the Unit
ed States. He must either have
a bachelor's degree or be eli
gible to receive this degree
before September 1, 1959.

Play Tryouts
Scheduled Today
Tryouts for "Tieer at the
Gates," the play-reading of
Jean Giradoux's comedy
about the Troian War will be
held this afternoon from 3 to
5, Wednesday from 3 to 5
p.m., and 7 to 10 p.m., and
Thursday from 3 to 5, accord
ing to Steve Schultz, director.
Tryouts will be in room 201
of Temple Building. Scripts
are available in the lobby of
fice of the Temple Building.
