New Union
The new Student Union's
greatest offer to the summer
school student will be "im
proved and complete air con
ditioning," according to D. E.
Lake, managing director of
the Union.
The Student Union and the
Administration building now
share the same branch from
the University power plant for
air conditioning.
"We will have our own unit
by next fall," Lake said.
When the new Union is com
p 1 e t e d, the Administration
building will take over the
presently shared power line
for private air conditioning.
The expanding Student Un
ion grew into a former park
ing lot that had a capacity of
300 cars. Lake said. When the
Union is finished "78 cars can
park on the lot," he stated.
Plant for expansion started !
about two years ago. Lake I
said. The "philosophy for ex
ponsiou was to improve our
design so we could be of more
service," he said.
Included in the features of
the new Student Union w ill be
a small auditorium, a com
muter's lunch area, a barber
shop, a fountain lounge to re
place the "Crib," three music
rooms, two party rooms ("for
hour dances," Lake said I, ten
bowling alleys and 12 billiard
tables.
The style of architecture for
the new Union is "modified
modern," according to Lake.

To keep "real cool" this

Six, and possibly seven.

according to Al Alt, foreman
of the University Job Pool.
These include: the new Ad

For women students, Piper
