Colorado: cal five are two nimble Cy clones, Lyle Frahm and John Crawford, and a transplanted Nebraskan, Bob Boozer of Kansas State. If you were to take the floor against this team, you would be facing a club that has an average height of 6-5" and has a scoring aver age that exceeds 87 points per game. They would be coached by Tex Winter, who guided Kan sas State to the Big Eight crown and a N.C.A.A. play off berth. Tex has had win ning seasons for five straight years since becoming head coach at Kansas State in 1953. This is the second league championship he has won. The 35-year-old mentor's record at Kansas State is 73 wins against 39 losses. Only a thin line separates some of the second team from the first team. The Kan sas schools dominate the sec ond team which consists jf Bob Billings and Ron Loneski of KU, Roy DeWitz and Jack Parr of K-State and Gene Hudson of Oklahoma. Only a late season illness prevented Farr from making the first team. A special award goes to TODAY! His last-minute clutch baskets gave Nebraska wins over both Missouri and Kansas Gary Reimers, Husker flash, earned his spot on the Big Eight team through his consistent floor play and scoring. Gary's speed has en abled him to become one of the top defensive men in the conference. He was also an outstanding backcourt man. Reimers led The Big Eight in percentage of free throws made with a mark of 846 There isn't much you can say about Chamberlain that hasn t been printed hundreds of times. He has single-hand edly changed the pattern of college basketball. He has also proven the concept that tall men are clumsy is false. Chamberlain led the league in scoring with a 30.5 point per game average. Although not as tall or spectacular as Chamberlain, Bob Boozer is only a step be hind the Stilt. Boozer was second to Chamberlain in scoring with a 20.4 average. He led the Wildcats in re bounding and was a top de fensive player. Iowa State was the only team to gain two positions on the Big Eight team. The Cyclones, who tied for sec ond in the conference race, were represented by John Crawford and Lyle Frahm. Crawford, a jumping-j a c k from Brooklyn, N.Y., led the Cyclones in scoring with a 13.9 average and in rebound ing. , Frahm took over Gary Thompson's spot as floor gen eral and did a creditable job. He came through strong when Crawford was injured and was a spiritual leader throughout the season. Oklahoma State was not represented on the Big Eight team because they don't en ter active basketball compe tition until next season. Want Ads Typing School Papr Profeailontl Quality Orao Q.
