If nothing else the Huskers can boast a winner in that of Dan Brand, Cornhusker heavyweight wrestler. Dan produced well for the matmen last year under Coach j eoiicm iiu uc&au me c- ! son off this year as winner of the heavyweight title at the Iowa State Teachers Tournament. Dan, a senior in Engineering Col lege, was one of the best liked and most respected wrestlers in the tourney. Since I have had the privilege to live with Dan for the past couple of years I can readily see where pps w I - ..- ' ; ii , ?. -1 civs zv; he gained this distinction. His mild mwners and quietness would make him almost inconspicious if ' it were not for his hulking frame. He towers over the six font mark (six-foot-five) and presents a for- 1 midable 200 and some odd pounds on his body. Dan is very concientious about wrestling, even in practice. He doesnt get too many takers. At the beginning of the year some of the freshmen had ideas of doing things that no man in the Sigma Nu house had done yet to pin Dan Brand but as of yet no one has turned the trick . . . and the field is getting rather small. As far as commanding respect, Dan has that well under control also. His favorite program on the video set is Cheyenne and when that time rolls around everyone near is quiet for Dan's program . . . or else.
