Today the Husker golfers host the Kansas Jayhawks and tomorrow the Kansas State Wildcats visit Lincoln. Also in Lincoln Saturday is the Fairbury Junior College ten nis squad to do battle with the Cornhusker racquet crew. Tirtorrow the Nebraska cinder crew treks south to Norman, Ok lahoma to participate in a quad rangular meet with Colorado, Ar kansas, the Sooners and NU. Coach Frank Sevigne's squad will be looking for their second win of the year. On the indoor agenda, the cindermen won only one con test, that a 91-13 triumph over South Dakota. The, Huskers fin ished seventh on the outdoor sea son last year in the conference and last on the Indoor boards this year. This will be the first of six meets for the Nebraskans this year, all of them on the road. Their hopes for a better outdoor performance could be strengthened by the addition of several new men and a fine crop of sophomores. Three veterans who have earned two letters at NU are Charles Gib son, Hugh Oamera and Bob Ander son. Other monogram winners in clude Merle Brestel, Lee Carter, Ken Reiners and Leonard .Rosen. Even though . the weather man Is trying to outdo us with very tin spring like weather, we are man aging to get some of the games played off. In Monday's softball schedule bad weather cancelled the games until Wednesday. Tuesday's results were Thetas beating the Alpha Chis, 10-9, AOPs going over the Alpha Phis, 19-5, and Towne Club beating the DG&, 12-11. In Wednesday's game, Newman club downed the Gamma Phis, 17-3, Chi Os defeated the DGs, 7-4, and Kappa Celts turned backed the Pi Phis, 25-L Thursday night the final co-recreational volley ball game was played between the Gamma Phi ATOs ' and the Alpha Xi-Sigma Chis. Last Thursday night the Gam ma PhkATO teamed nudged the Alpha Xi-Sigma Chi group 28-27 in the semi-finals. With the return of three letter men, coach Ed Higgenbottom will be relying heavily on sophomores to carry the brunt of their attack. Al Ford, John Moran and Tom Stitt are the returning letterwin- ners. Three sophomores who are pushing for top honors are Art Weaver, Brent Donnelson and George Fisk. Fisk and Weaver both made the southern swing with the squad. The Husker schedule includes four home matches. Alumni Coach Tom Novak said Thursday that the grads are be coming more excited over the re newal of the series against the var sity every day. He said that about 40-50 men are expected to turn out for the contest as the former greats shoot for their first win in the fifth game of the series.
