Scandinavian
Culture Study
Attracts 38
The Scandinavian Seminar for
Cultural Studies, a non-profit or
ganization offering nine months'
study in either Norway, Denmark
or Sweden, has announced there
are now 38 American students en
tered in 17 different folk schools
in the Scandinavian countries.
The students take part in five
weeks of orientation courses, live
with families for six weeks and
then attend t h e folk schools.
which are residential colleges
where the principal emphasis is
on the study of the humanities.
Juniors are admitted for full
credit with most students under
the graduate nroeram. American
students attend regular classes
with Scandinavian students and
participate in Scandinavian life
Estimates of costs for the nine
month seminar including a fee of
$800, trans-Atlantic travel from
New York to Copenhagen and re
turn and field trips in Scandinavia
is approximately $1,350.

campus and it is hoped that the
