Ag Union Starts
Dance Lessons
The first of a series of six free
dance lessons taught by profes
sional instructors from the Fred
Astaire Dance Studios will be pre
sented Wednesday evening, the Ag
Union dance committee has an
nounced. Lessons will be given
frcm 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in the
gym.
Any University student is eligi
ble to attend these lessons which
provide an opportunity to learn all
the latest dance steps, the dance
committee said.

Parlies Celebrate Tin

Two house parties led the social
festivities at NU last week end.
Miscellaneous activities included
a small migration to Manhattan
for the football game plus Satur
day afternoon clubs encamped at
various places with their ears
tuned to the World Series on one
hand and the Husker-Wildcat bat
tle on the other.
The Alpha Xi Delta French Cafe
Party featured decorations consist
ing of French awnings, candle
light and posters depicting French
scenes and art. Guys and dolls
danced to the music of Jimmy
Phillips' orchestra. Co-planners of
the party were Lorajane Baskin
and Kay Kenney.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon held its
traditional fall Western Party Sat
urday night. Lawn decorations in
cluded a corral gate and buggy
and hay was strewn around inside
and used for seats. Costumed cou
ples sashayed to the strains of
Western music by a four-piece
"genuwine" Western band. The
party was under the direction of
social chairman John Wisenstein.

Ag Club Plans
Men's Smoker
For Oct. 73
Chancellor Clifford Hardin will
be the main speaker at the an
nual Block and Bridle Smoker to
be held Oct. 13 in the Ag Union at
7:40 p.m.
The smoker is designed to famil
iarize freshmen men with the ac
tivities and work of the Block and
Bridle organization, and to encour
age them to join the club.
Requirements for joining this
organization are as follows: The
student must have a 4.5 scholastic
average, an interest in animal hus
bandry, and have completed one
semester of Animal Husbandry I.
According to Charles Adams, ad
visor of the organization, a Second
semester freshman may join the
Block and Bridle club, providing
that he took Animal Husbandry I
the first semester.
Refreshments will be served by
the club, afterwhich the students
may sign up for membership.
Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia
To Give Smoker Sunday
Phi Mu. Alpha, Sinfonia, profes
sional music fraternity, will hold
a smoker Sunday at 3 p.m. at the
