Sigma Theta Epsilon To Hold
Rush Party Wednesday Night
Pre-Med Tests
Pre-medical students who
have not yet taken the Medical
College admission test and who
expect to apply for 1953 en
trance to medical colleges, other
than that of the University, should
see Dr. Eugene Powell, the pre
medical adviser, 306 Bessey Hall.
Applications for the test to be
given, November 3, 1952, must
be in the office of the Educa
tional Testing Service, Prince
ton, N. J., by Oct. 20, 1952.
Sigma Theta Eosilon. National
Methodist Service Fraternity, will
noia a rush party Wednesday ev
ening at 7:30 p.m.
The party will be held at the
Wesley Foundation, 1417 R Street,
opposite the Union. The frater
nity's new sponsor is Dr. Arthur
Hitchcock, Dean of the Junior Di
vision. Francis W. Benedict, Sen
ior in the College of Business Ad
ministration, will officiate as pres
ident.
The weekly meetings are held
at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays. One of
the Fraternity's services is dep
utation teams. These are volun
teer groups which go to
churches within 150 miles of
Lincoln to perform different
services which the minister has
requested. These may be usher
ing, serving at church suppers,
etc.; all of which are usually
done on Sundays. The group
also sponsors three record
dances in the Union Ballroom
during: the year.
The purposes of Sigma Theta
Epsilon are fivefold, namely: to
create a more intimate Christian
fellowship among men of the
Methodist faith, to develop lead
ership of the clergy and laity in
the church, to provide religious

Staff Of KNUS ....
The staff of KNUS, campus ra
dio station at the University, was
announced by Paul Schupbach,
temporary director of radio.
The new staff will be headed by
Clarence Wurdinger, a senior
speech major. Bob Spearman, a
junior in the speech department,
was named program director.
Barrett, a speech department
junior, will head the news and
special events department. Diane
Downing, an English major, will
supervise the continuity depart
ment. Wurdinger, the new station
training and encourage a study of
the Bible, to acquaint their mem
bers with the history, activities
and purpose of the Methodist
Church and to promote whole
some social activities.
Incidentally, men who
are
fraternity members and pledges
are not prohibited by their
pledge from joining Sigma Theta
Epsilon.
Any woman who is interested is
urged to inquire about Kappa Phi,
