the economic group you be

"I say watch out for him be

He propagates political hypo

government are evidenced by
smear politics in another form
of our government Congres
sional investigations. "These re
pudiate a basic inalienable Am
merican right," Senator Morse
said, "the presumption of inno
cence. They substitute trial by
accusation for trial by proof.
"Get it out of your heads if
yon think smear tactics are
not paying off in American
politics today. Some great An

been defeated in elections in
recent years by smear tactics
and the Communist big-lie
technique.
4. "There is a direct relation
ship between ethical standards
in government and foreign pol

are millions of people in our
country who are coming to be
lieve that we can live unto our
selves alone. . This is a philo
sophy of selfishness.
"It is a philosophy character
ized by feelings of national an
tagonism, racial discrimination,
and a sense of national superior
ity which is bound to arouse
world-wide opposition. It is a
denial of the spiritual teaching
that we are our brother's keeper
and that the Golden Rule is just
as sound a political principle in
International policy as it is in
individual conduct."

The other night as I was watch-

"Idiot's Delight," I received a'
telephone call from one Dolly
McQuistan. She said, "Jack, do
you suppose you could write myI
article for me this week?" Being
a good hearted and not too trusty
a soul. I said, "Yes, but don't you
click. (She hung up.) So.
here we go let's start with the
most important first.
Picnics If it ever clears off
they will be a popular thing
this season as they were last
and the year before that etc.
Blue denim trousers and jackets
seem to be the thing for this

deal in tan, grey and other com
binations. We seem to be having a few
more spring formals than usual.
Maybe the white dinner jacket
isn't gone after all. White dinner
jackets with a plaid cumberbund
and tie to match can be worn for
such occasions. More houses than
ever are having their formals late
this year maybe they will get
back to having two formals a
year.
As I was saying at the beginning

I meant to say "don't you
think you could have someone
write the article that knows
something about the subject mat
ter" after all I'm only an old.
