Buchanan paced the Ilusker scorers with 16 points, but it was the always moving Seger who ignited the Nebraska of fense and ended the four-game Bearcat win streak. Holding a 36-32 half time lead, Harry Good's boys were forced to go the limit before shaking the nusmng Missourians. Dick Buck' ridge, mainspring of the visitors attack, netted 16 tallies to share nigh game honors with Buchanan. His chief support came from vet eran George Nathan who chalked up 11 points. Nebraska's superior height and a successful fast break offense proved the difference. It was Seger, a sophomore guard from Omaha Benson high, that engi neered the victory drive with his topnotch passing and rugged rebound work. The Huskers lumped to an earlv ieaa on iieia goais Dy Buchanan and Stan Matzke. along with a free toss by Matzke. The Bearcats got into the act on a one-pointer by George Coulter, and a field goal by Dick Buckridge. For the bcarlet, Seger hit his first of five :"ree throws to make the score 6-3 Nebraska. Gerry Sandbulte potted a Track Meet Preliminary Sst-Dsc 13 Preliminaries for the 1951-52 intramural indoor track meet will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, and Tuesday, Dec. 18, on the indoor track under the East Stadium. Finals in the intramural meet are scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 10. On Thursday, Dec. 13, pre liminaries will be held in the 440-yard dash, 60-yard dash, 60 yard low hurdles, broad jump and shot put. Also slated for Thurs day are the finals in the four-lap relay. Tuesday will be the day for the preliminaries in the 60-yard high hurdles, half mile, one-lap run, high jump and pole vault. The finals in the one-mile relay will also be run on that day. All finals except in the re lays will be held on Jan. 10. Each entrant is limited to enter ing three running events (exclud ing relays), but may 'enter any number of field events. In the track events, the six best men in each class of fraternity and inde pendent groups qualify for the finals. The best 10 men in each class in field events will qualify for the January finals. The Missourians then closed the gap, as free throws by Ono Monachino and George Nathan along with buckets by Nathan and Buckridge boosted the Bearcats' count to nine. Seger dunked a free toss to make the first quarter score 10-9 Ne braska. The Missourians, dominating play in the first half of the second period, rolled to a 19-13 lead mid way in the frame for their biggest lead of the night. Scoring leader for the Bearcats in the second quarter was Buck ridge with three two-pointers and two free tosses. Teammates Bob Wright and Nathan added two points apiece to run the visitors second period total to 12. For Nebraska it was Fireball ing Seger, who led the way, counting five points on two fieideYs and a free shot. Char ley Ott, Buchanan and Clark Smaha each scored two-pointers, and Don Weber flipped two charity snots through the hoop to make the halftime score NU 23, Northwest Missouri State College 21. in the third canto the visitors managed to stay within range of the Huskers, seldom trailing by more than three points. But the sharpshooting of Bucky Buchanan, Otto, Willard Fagler and Matzke more than made up tor the scoring done by the Bear cats' Chuck Ramsey, Nathan, uucKridge and Coulter. Coulter started the third frame with a free shot, but Buchanan topped that with a field goal. The Bearcats' Na than drove in for a layup two pointer, and followed this ef fort with a free toss. Husker Don Weber countered with a free shot, and Buchanan plunk ed in a set shot from the left side. Ott added two on a two handed jump shot to make the score 30-25 with four minutes remaining in the third period. The Missourians again closed in on the home club as Ramsev. Buckridge and Coulter combined for five points. Buckridge and Ramsey hit long, looping fielders and Coulter dunked a charity throw, raising the visitors' score to 30 points. Matzke keDt the Huskers out in front with a field goal, making the count 32-30. Then Cornhusker Fagler set the nets ablaze with two fast shots from the floor to give the Nebraska total an upward kick. Bearcat George Nathan potted a field goal in the waning min utes of the quarter to make the third period score Nebraska 36, Northwest Missouri 32. Nebraska's fast break, sadlv neglected in the first 30 minutes, turned the ball game into a one sided affair the fourth canto. The Huskers chalked up 23 points I with their fireball tactics. Matzke,: beger, Fagler, Bill Johnson and Buchanan ended up on the scor ing end of the downcourt rushes Buchanan looked especially sharp as heh began hitting with his usual consistency. o V II C. Consolation matches will be held at that time also. Sigma Chi and Beta Thcta Pi currently are leading the race for the All-University cham pionship with a Mai of 12 pin points apiece. Delta Tau Delta is third with 10 points. The semi-final bouts, staged Monday, produced 12 falls. This assures a full card of rugged wrestling on tap for Wednesday. Gary Ashbaugh, Sigma Chi 177 -pounder, turned in the quickest pinning of the tourney Wednesday, throwing Milt De whirst, Delta Tau Delta, in just :16 of the first round. Kitzelman threw Herschel Morton, Sigma Nu, in 4:50. Park and Morton will tangle in the heavyweight consolation contest. Don Lorenz, Men's Dorm, and Jerry Yeager, Delta Tau Delta, promise rugged competition in the 167-pound finals. Lorenz threw Royce Tomes. Sig Ep. in 2:59 and later won a referee's decision over Ben Leonard of Sigma Chi to en ter the finals.
